Meet Quilt Artist David Taylor

The Quilters’ Community | Episode 93

David Taylor had been a graphic designer for newspapers for many years when his friend told him he should be quilting. At first it didn’t suit him. But then he caught on and began quilting in 2000 and won his first award at International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2006. He always loved fabric, even as a child, and he also worked in a fabric store, but traditional quilting didn’t appeal to him. He sewed clothes and did costuming for theatre. But once he was introduced to appliqué, quilting took center stage. Although he learned machine appliqué, he now only appliqués by hand. Watch and learn more about this extraordinary quilter.
