For the beginning quilters, I suggest showing how the purple and the blue fabric markers work. The purple is air-soluble and the blue one is water-soluble. There can be pitfalls using these however, so perhaps a future show could address these concerns and show the viewers how to use and remove the marks these pens leave. Thanks, Mary!

The friction pens are so hot right now (pun intended). They’re not specifically produced for quilters, but they’re an ink pen and the ink comes out with heat. Basically an erasable ink pen, there’s a little nub eraser on top that applies heat with friction and it magically comes out. You can also use a dry iron and it does the same thing! It comes in purple, blue, and black and my quilt shop sells them for like $2. I believe they are manufactured by pilot.
