Eleanor Burns explains how two different freedom quilts are made which are the Delectable Mountain Quilt and the the Boston Common Quilt. The Mountain Freedom Quilt is made with 2 sets of triangles. Once you sew the mountain pieces with the sky, just press the seams together. Then cut them into strips and alternate them to give a edgy look.
The Boston Common quilt is made with 9 strips in 2 and half pieces that are sewn them together over and over. You start in the middle and is made with 2 sets of 9 inch strips.
