This video talks about the slave coded quilts such as the Bear’s Paw, Cross Roads, and Log Cabin quilt. The Bear’s Paw Quilt meant that slaves should follow the trail of the bear because it would indicate the best path to food and water. The paw block is easy to make with 16 claws. The paws are 4 inch squares which are set together with a lattice.
The Cross Roads quilt meant that they reached the terminal into Canada. Then she talks about the Log Cabin and a few others. Please sign in to watch the full video.
