How to Paper Piece Hexagons

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting | 1800 | Episode 1803

This is part one of two episodes featuring an extraordinary quilt—a wonderful reproduction of a 19th century quilt. In this episode, Marianne and Mary Fons teach a special technique for how to paper piece hexagons for machine appliquéd rosettes. Hand appliqué needles and stabilizer are must-have’s for this quilt project. Jewels of the Garden is featured in Love of Quilting September/October 2011.

  1. The Jewels of the Garden looks very interesting to make . Would love paper piecing it . Be I would change the border a little by adding one row of hexagons around the outside. I think that would
    make it more interesting .
