How to Make an Amish Triangle Quilt

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting | 1700 Series | Episode 1701

Marianne and Mary Fons show you how to make an Amish triangle quilt and how to enlarge the patchwork quilt pattern. The half square triangle pattern is typically 3 inches in length for a quilt but can be made larger in a quilt. Since Marianne wanted a larger quilt with this design, she cut her quilt fabric into 4 inch half square triangles. Don’t let the math overwhelm you. The Half and Quarter ruler makes cutting triangles easy.

• The quilt Amish Triangles is featured in Easy Quilts Fall 2010.

    • Hi, our videos use Adobe player which iPads do not have. A fellow quilter recommended an app call SkyFire. This is one you need to pay to have but she had no problems with videos after purchasing the app. There may be other apps out now you could use, please try to find one which will work for you so you will be able to watch the videos.
