Make A Bag for your Rotary Cutting Mat

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting | 1200 Series | Episode 1206

As quilters we like to sew with friends or go to workshops, and it’s really helpful to have a tote bag to take along our sewing supplies.

In this episode we’ll show you how to make a nice big quilted bag—big enough for your large rotary cutting mat, ruler, for all of the other supplies you need to go to a workshop, and even some chocolate for extra energy! This bag is featured in Easy Quilts Summer 2008.

In this first part, we’ll show you how to make easy handles you can use on any bag, how to use binding to finish raw edges, and how to use scraps to make a matching mini bag. Make sure you have your triangle trimmers ready to make accurate patchwork for the exterior of the bag.
