Make Scrap Quilts with Half-Square Triangles

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting | 1900 | Episode 1909

A half-square triangle is one of patchwork’s most basic units. Quilts that require lots of half square-triangles are perfect for using up your scraps. Marianne and Mary demonstrate how to make scrap quilts with half-square triangles, how to create star blocks using quadrants, and how to press patchwork rows so your seams lock.

One of the quilts in this episode, Scrappy Triangles, is featured in Love of Quilting Nov/Dec 2011. Mary’s quilt, Pink Waves, is featured in Quilty Summer 2012.
