Lisa Calle shows us the simple technique of Divide and Design in action. She starts with a blank block, shoots a black and white photo, and prints it out. Using a pencil and her circle and arc tools she begins drawing a pattern on overlays. By adding overlays the design becomes more intricate and you will soon be ready for quilting open spaces.
Quick Takes in Longarm Quilting with Vicki Hoth
Vicki addresses another quilter’s phobia, Tension Phobia, and proves that knowledge is the cure. When the tension is correct, the stitching looks the same on both the front and back sides. Rule #1 is to start by correcting the bobbin tension. When the bobbin tension is right it’s simple to correct the top tension.
Watch segment 3 of this series which shows Lisa stitching the design with the longarm quilting machine.

I can’t get episode 2 for March – it keeps playing episode 1.
