At the drawing board, Patrick visits with his friend, Ronda Garland, about their mutual love of Halloween and Patrick’s new “Boo to You” door banner or wallhanging design. It’s the perfect quilted project to greet the trick-or-treating beggars with something for everyone – a little piecing, a little appliqué and a lot of FUN!
In Segment 2, Patrick welcomes Kay Capps-Cross back to his “Quilt & Create Studio” after sending her off with an assignment from the last episode to practice her satin stitching. Using Sulky Tear-Easy stabilizer and rayon thread, Patrick shows some tips that are specific to stitching the “pointy” stars and bat wings. Then he asks Kay to show us what she’s learned. Did Kay do her homework? Tune in to see!
To end this month’s Halloween episode, Ronda’s back in the studio to help Patrick show us how to quickly and easily make a no-nonsense hanging sleeve to attach to the back of the banner so we can use the coordinating wire hanger to display it. Patrick introduces some surprise visitors to the studio – his daughter, Katie and granddaughters, Lily and Anna – who have been the inspiration for so much of his work.

It was really interesting and helpful to watch Patrick Lose design and discuss the Hallowe’en banner that I plan to make from the new magazine.
His designs are always fun to do.

I loved this. I Love Halloween. Nice and simple, yet the stitching makes the project.
Enjoyed the tutorial on the Satin Stitch.
