What inspires you to make a quilt? Matt McShan was inspired by a city building. See how the inspiration translated into a patchwork quilt on today’s show! Also, check out City Streets, a baby quilt inspired by–well–the name says it! For more inspiration and idea’s visit HeyQuilty.com or pick up Quilty magazine!

Nice block.
I like the non-traditional color scheme. It’s an interesting thought to take our color themes from nature and the city environment when we see something that goes well together.
You crack me up, though, being so amazed that a beginner can design their own quilt block so soon. I’ve made baby quilts and a number a place mats and some hot pads and bookmarks and I’ve only seldom used anyone else’s pattern. I always seem to end up inventing my own.
So, yeah, we’re not so unusual as you might think. lol

I liked the block and the colors, I did see some angles in the original pic that may have been interesting in the block……I personally would consider sashing the blocks to give each of them character but to each his/her own……Good Job for a newby!

I was wondering what fabric you used for the log cabin quilt behind you. Love the quilt and I enjoy watching your shows.
