Hi,
Just watched the video and loved it!. I was glad to hear that there are some schools teaching quilt making.
I have been quilting for about 4 years now and love it so much that each year I go to my daughter-in-laws 4th grade class and teach the kids about quilting and then we make a class quilt. I give each child a square of material and depending on the theme they decorate that square. Then I take all of the blocks and assemble the quilt. When it is finished I take it back to the class so that the kids and see their work of art!! I can’t tell you how excited they get and how much they learn from the whole experience. We even invite the familes of the children to come in to see the quilt.
I have inspired a few of the girls so much that for their birthdays or Christmas they ask for sewing lessons or a sewing machine!
Let keep the art of quilting alive!
