Episode Description:

Quilter and certified Zentangle teacher Nancy Smith demonstrates how to make a quilted Zentangle pillow beginning with three simple Zentangle patterns. Nancy describes how to draw the patterns on fabric and offers recommendations for types of fabrics and pens to use. She highly recommends testing a variety of both. Biography:

Nancy Smith has been quilting more than 40 years and was co-owner of the Great American Quilt Factory, a fabric and quilting supplies store in Denver, Colorado. She and her business partner Lynda Milligan also created Dreamspinners, a quilt pattern line, and also published more than 70 quiltmaking books and designed more than 100 fabric lines under the Possibilities name. The businesses were closed in 2011 when the duo retired. Nancy continues to teach quilting and is also a certified Zentangle teacher.

  1. Oh my, I’ve been doing this for years. I didn’t know it had a name. I called it doodling, even if you don’t. It helped keep me from getting ultra bored during weekly staff meetings. I first drew my doodle, then filled each area in with various graphics. The margins and other blank areas of the agenda was filled with these. I regret I threw all those agendas away when I retired.
