Quilting and Rug Hooking in a Civil War Home
It’s all about using color on this month’s show. Jodie and Mark open the episode from the Finishing Stitch, a shop located in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
They spotlight a new notion by Clover and Jodie visits with Merrily Parker of Merrily We Quilt Along for what to look for in a longarm machine.
Mark’s surprise doorknock star this month is Ellie Bennett, a prolific rug hooker and quilter. She lives in a lovingly restored 1850’s Civil War era house in Littlestown, Pennsylvania which is decorated in period style with the beautiful rugs and quilts she makes.
How about a Batch of QuiltSoup? Jodie and Mark review the book by Barbara J. Jones of the QuiltSoup Pattern Company.
Nine quilts feature fun patchwork and charming applique with relatively large, easy-to-use applique shapes. Barbara adds tips for beautifully stitched needle-turn applique. Absolutely yummy quilts!
