Tomorrow I’m off the New York City for what is going to one one heck of a fabulous quilting weekend. It’s the Alliance for American Quilts event “Quilters Take Manhattan.” BIG names in quilting will be there. Marianne Fons is giving her talk on “Why We Quilt.” It’s GREAT! Mary Fons will also speak. Mark Lipinski is interviewing Jay MacCarroll of Project Runway fame for QSOS (Quilters Share Our Stories), there’s a panel discussion about the Modern Quilt Guild Movement, an auction, cocktail reception at the new gallery at City Quilter and more. Lots of fun! I’ll even be taping a piece for Quilt Out Loud! with a few event-goers. I’ll be asking each of them one of the questions we ask during the Quilters Save Our Stories oral history interviews we do with AAQ. We’ll air this on an upcoming episode. My interviewees are very excited to be part of this! Then, on Sunday Mark and I are taping the October episode of Quilt Out Loud! We’ll be at City Quilter, in the garment district, and… oh, I can’t tell you. Our surprise doorknock is a good one! If you’re in New York this weekend there are still tickets for some events, so come join the fun!
