- ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA and EAST LANSING, MICHIGAN, May 16, 2008- The Quilt Index (www.quiltindex.org), a national partnership of The Alliance for American Quilts and Michigan State University, announces the public launch of an online resource cataloging over forty historically significant quilts from the Mountain Heritage Center (MHC), a regional museum located on the campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.

- Online Quilting Network Host Sending Work to Seaway Trail Show March 15-16

- The Seaway Trail Discovery Center in Sacketts Harbor, NY will host a quilt exhibit March 15-16 as part of the Feathers and Fowl: Birds of the Great Lakes Seaway Trail Quilt Show and Competition. The 10 am-5pm Seaway Trail quilt event benefits the Seaway Trail Foundation and includes demonstrators, vendors, 1 pm presentations by birder-photographer Eve Sweatman, and a free bird appliqué with every paid admission. Stewart Weddings, Newsweek, and Shape magazine, to name a few. In 2005 they were
named “Trendsetters of the Year” by Modern Bride magazine and were honored as
“Women Who Make A Difference” in Family Circle. Since its inception, the organization
has granted hundreds of wishes and their commitment is to continue fulfilling as many
wishes as possible until a cure is found.
