I am a quilter (strip piecer) from Utah. Actually, I began quilting in Indiana about 15 years ago. There was a great quilt shop that I found, took lessons and fell in love with cutting up fabric and sewing it back together! HA
While living in Crawfordsville, Indiana, I belonged to Sugar Creek Quilters and co-chaired for a year. We had strip swaps, over-night quilting bees for charity, and quilt displays at our local library. I was fortunate to go to two week-long quilting conferences lead by Mary Ellen Hopkins. What fun memories!
Eleven years ago, we moved to Utah, and I became an Administrator of a Retirement Community and Assisted Living. Quilting was and IS my stress release. I have a quilting room in the basement and it is my favorite place to be. I belong to the Dog Kennel quilt group here in Highland, Utah, and they are the best group of women to share the quilting passion with. I feel very blessed!
My daughter, who lives in Indianapolis, caught the quilting bug. Whenever she visits, we quilt, piece, embroider, press, rotary cut out new quilts, visit quilt stores, purchase fabric and dream of new projects. I taught her everything she knows (!), but.......she passed me up and does way more complex designs and patterns than I do. She likes the challenge; I like the easy stripping stuff. We have the best bonding time, as we both work on our current projects.
