Margaret Glomb - November 2008 M.O.M.

I have only been quilting for 13 years. When I finally wanted to begin, there was no place locally to take lessons. So, I bought "how to" books and read all I could, and started to piece a quilt top. I did very well and won many blue ribbons at the local fair.

Most of my quilts are for family- I have three daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Some of the women in our church wanted some instructions on quilting so I taught a class to get them started. I am currently director of the "Mission Quilters" in our church. We make "red, white, and blue" quilts for service personnel, and also make lap quilts for the nursing home. We have donated three quilts for the Women's Crisis Center and have a quilt and two baby quilts put aside for burnout victims. The Mission Quilters have done this with only donated fabrics and fantastic fellowship.
