Deborah Libertore - September 2008 M.O.M.
Hi! My name is Deborah Libertore and I love quilting here on the east coast of the U.S.
What a nice surprise to be picked as QNNtv Member of the Month!
I have no idea how many quilts I have made over the years as most have been given away. I only wish I had taken pictures of all of them or kept a journal as I made them.
When I made my first two lap-quilts using my children’s crayon drawings back in 1990, I had no idea what an obsession it would lead to! Lots of fabric, books and magazines and eventually the restoring/collecting/using of vintage sewing machines. As much as I love using my modern Bernina, I also enjoy piecing and quilting on my treadle sewing machines and old electric models. There is something about sewing on a machine that is a hundred years old and wondering about the history of it. Who owned it previously and what did they sew on it? Did they make quilts?
I have a lot of UFO’s or WIP’s since I do assembly –line sewing when I make charity quilts. I don’t know if I will ever get one, but I hope someday to have a long-arm quilting machine to finish up some of these quilt-tops!
Here are some photos of some of my quilts/quilt tops.

This is the HS graduation quilt I made for my daughter. (The picture is of the unfinished top, which I did finish in time, but didn't get a picture.) Which reminds me, though I did finish a college grad quilt, I didn't make her Master's degree quilt yet. Yikes!
