As a do-it-yourself kind of girl, and a beginning quilter, I taped TV shows like Simply Quilts, Fons & Porter, Eleanor Burns, Kay Woods, and watched them over and over. I took notes, made a list of tools I needed and went to a local quilt shop for my supplies. The clerks there were all quilters and eager to help. I came home with fabric, a book and everything I needed to make a quilt. For a first quilt --I would recommend a small, simple project. After that first success--you will be hooked!
