10° Festival Brasileiro de Quilt e Patchwork
Reconhecido como o principal evento do gênero na América do Sul, o Festival Brasileiro de Quilt e Patchwork chegou este ano a sua décima edição. Com patrocínio de Singer e OLFA, as atividades aconteceram de 7 a 10 de novembro na cidade serrana de Gramado,no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O evento ofereceu cerca de 25 cursos e oficinas, ministrados por mestres vindos de todos os cantos do país.A convidada internacional desta edição foi a americana Kathy Kansier,professora de quilt, juíza e avaliadora certficada pela American Quilter Society. Alem de julgar as peças,Kathy ministrou dois dois cursos e deu uma palestra. Alem da mostra dos trabalhos da convidada Kathy Kansier, foi realizado o 1° Salão Internacional de Patchwork,com mostras de trabalhos da Argentina, Uruguai e Chile. O Festival oferece tradicinalmente uma feira de produtos,com lançamentos E mostras de máquinas,equipamentos,tecidos,e coleções voltadas ao setor. O evento é realizado pela Fio de Linha-Arte em Pano e J.M.Netto Produção E Eventos.

The Brazilian Quilt and Patchwork Festival - perhaps the most important event of its kind in South America - reached its tenth edition this year, sponsored by Singer and OLFA. The event took place in the beautiful city of Gramado, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, at the far south of Brazil, from November 7 to 10. Twenty five courses or workwhops were held during the event, ministered by teachers from the whole country. Special guest was American quilt-teacher Kathy Kansier, who is a certified referee by the American Quilter Society. Besides judging the products exhibited, Ms Kansier delivered a lecture, ministered two courses and exhibited some of her works.
There was also an international exhibition with works by artists from Brazil, Argentine, Uruguay and Chile.
In every edition, the Festival offers a fair with products related to the activitity: machinery, fabrics and textiles, special collections and so on.The Festival is organized by Fio de Linha-Arte em Pano and J.M.Netto Produção e Eventos.
