FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 1, 2009

Big Canoe, GA — April 1, 2009.  Maria Peagler, author of Color Mastery:  10 Principles for Creating Stunning Quilts, is now a "rock star," according to the team at Slideshare.net.  Her slideshow, Making a Quilter's Color Wheel, has been viewed over 400,000 times and has gone "viral."

"I'm thrilled so many quilters have made time for a fun artist date by watching the slideshow and downloading the color wheel chart," says Peagler.  "I've long thought quilters weren't afraid of color, but frustrated instead.  They simply needed someone to give them a road map on how to be more effective with color.  The slideshow has definitely struck a chord in the quilting community."

Peagler is the owner of two blogs, Quilts and Creativity and Color Mastery, both of which offer a wealth of educational resources on color and quilting, all with no advertising.  Quilters from university professors to homeschool mothers love the downloads, videos, exercises, and tutorials Peagler makes available to the quilting community.

Peagler uses permission marketing, made famous by Seth Godin, and an author entrepreneurial business model highlighted in Forbes magazine (July 18, 2008 by technology entrepreneur and strategy consultant Sramana Mitra) to promote her book, lectures, and workshops.  She leverages technology to connect with an international audience of quilters that would be impossible to reach with traditional methods.

Here are just a few of the innovative resources Peagler offers at her blogs:

Peagler will be touring across Georgia at the end April and will be blogging and Twittering (@colormaster) each day.  Her readers can keep up with the latest news from the tour, dates, and locations through her blogs.

Media: Contact author for interviews or review copies. Visit www.colormastery.com/media for cover art, author pix, sample articles, book reviews, and more.  The book retails for $26.95 and can be purchased in quilt shops, bookstores, on Amazon, through Atlasbooks.com and at 800-537-6727.
